Leah SmithPeriod 4<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--> Throughout American history, certain people (called patriots) had many motivating factors that caused them to fight for their freedom. Some spoke to make themselves heard above the crowd. Others wrote many meaningful words with hope that their love of country and love of family would make a difference in their lives. Those are some motivating factors that caused patriots to take action. First and foremost, many patriots were known for their action of fighting. In other words, they chose to fight for what they believed in. One person who did this was Benjamin Martin. While fighting, one of his sons was killed. After that, Benjamin took action killing many fighters of the British. He was motivated to do this because his love of family. Another man that took action was Paul Revere. Once he found out that the British were going to secretly attack the Sons of Liberty, he got a horse and rode all over towns to worn them. Paul Revere loved his country and he wasn't going to let anyone destroy them. Nathan Hale was another patriot that took action for his love of country. General Washington decided that he couldn't beat the British, so he sent Nathan a job to be a spy. Nathan agreed and soon he got caught. Before they executed him, he made a little speech that said "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." He took action for his love of country. Those are some patriots who faught because to save their country, or their family. Secondly, many patriots spoke to be heard above the crowd. One person was Patrick Henry. He thought that he wasn't being treated fairly and he was tired of all the lip service. So, at the Virginia Convention, he decided to speak up. His famous quote was "give me liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry as a patriot, did it for the love of himself. Another patriot who spoke up was John Adams. He thought that everyone should be treated fairly and have equal independence. As president, it was easy for him to say what he wanted to say, but he said it. Those are two patriots that wasnted to speak for their love of country and love of themself. Lastly, many people wrote such meaningful words to be heard. One person was Abigail Adams. She thought that women weren't being treated equally and she finally wanted to do something about it. So, in some letters to her husband, John Adams, she was known for a famous quote that said, " Remember the ladies." She thought that she should motivate herself and stand up for not only her, but all the other women who were suffering too. Another patriot who wrote was Benjamin Franklin. He wrote something that even became famous were was the Poor Richards Almanac. In this he wrote many meaningful things because he wanted to stand up for all different people in the world and telling them they can do whatever they put their hearts to. I think that he was motivated for his love of people and country. Those are some patriots who wrote to be heard. In conclusion, throughout American history, certain people had many motivating factors for them to be heard. Some fought for their freedom and love of country. Others spoke to be heard hoping that they could make a difference. Also, many people wrote for their love of themselves, or even country. These people should be remembered for what they did and what motivated them to do it.
